
About Richard Vojlay
With over 50 years of experience, Richard Vojlay is internationally recognised as a leading expert in advanced contact lens fitting and the management of complex eye conditions such as keratoconus and post-corneal grafts. Richard is regularly referred patients from ophthalmologists and fellow optometrists, both in Australia and abroad, for his expertise in hard-to-fit lenses and therapeutic care.
After graduating from The University of Melbourne in 1974, Richard went on to establish and lead a respected specialist contact lens clinic in Melbourne, which he built over nearly three decades into one of the country’s most well-regarded practices for complex lens fitting and therapeutic care.
In 2022, Richard took the helm at Collin & Kirk Optometrists, one of Melbourne’s longest-standing practices, continuing its rich legacy while ushering in a new era of personalised, clinically grounded care. Richard brings a unique blend of heritage and innovation, delivering thoughtful solutions tailored to every individual.

Beyond the Clinic
In 2000, Richard co-founded Keratoconus Australia, the first national support organisation dedicated to people living with keratoconus. He continues to serve as a clinical consultant, providing strategic insight and patient-focused care to help improve outcomes across the country.
Beyond optometry, Richard holds a Diploma in Humanities (Music) from La Trobe University — a reflection of his lifelong appreciation for the arts and his thoughtful, patient-centred approach to care.
Today, at Collin & Kirk Optometrists, Richard continues to support patients through all stages of their vision journey, combining clinical depth with a calm, compassionate presence.
